Created in partnership with the Ecomuseum of Val Vestino, the “Suitcase of Ancient Crafts” is a portable physical kit that includes twelve wearable headsets for immersive reality experiences.
Each device allows the end user to enjoy five immersive sensory experiences, discovering the area’s most significant places and stories, as well as the tangible and intangible heritage preserved and protected by the Ecomuseum of Val Vestino.
Visitors are offered the opportunity to explore, from a first-hand perspective, the visual and aural landscape of the fascinating environments preserved and protected by the cultural institution.
The sounds of nature and traditional crafts, as well as the tales of the local community’s most significant historical figures, guide each guest through the history and traditions that have shaped an area located between Lake Garda and Lake Idro, in the municipalities of Magasa and Valvestino, in the heart of the Alto Garda Bresciano Park.
Thanks to a user-centered design, the “Suitcase of Ancient Crafts” represents a new cultural format for innovating the Ecomuseum’s cultural heritage, while also focusing on accessibility. Developed according to criteria that meet the needs of people with hearing loss, motor disabilities, and mental disabilities, the “Suitcase” is designed to bring schoolchildren and seniors in nursing homes closer to the beautiful landscapes of the Vestino Valley.
The project is being implemented with the support of resources from the European Union, the Italian State and the Lombardy Region.
